More about the team behind the dream.

What began as a dream years ago became a reality in the Winter of 2016. Alexis, Haley, Jordan, and Phil hit the drawing board to help create another reason why a stop in Waco is well worth it. We believe that unequaled hospitality, combined with expertise of local artisans, can create a destination worth visiting from anywhere.
We finished building in August 2017, and opened our doors September 2018 to our guests from all over!

Avenues Of Waco Team

Hi all! We are Alexis and Phil Christensen, and we welcome you to Avenues of Waco.

I'm Alexis, and I am a community organizer at Waco Community Development. I have worked with housing and community development for the past four years. I have lived in Waco for 10 years and serve on a myriad of boards and committees throughout the city, such as the World Hunger Relief Farm Board, Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce Economic Development Policy Committee, and Waco-McLennan County NAACP Executive Council, to name a few. Also a Baylor Grad, Sic'em Bears!

Hey all, Phil here. I work for the Department of Veterans Affairs as a Field Examiner, assisting disabled veterans and protecting their financial assets through fiduciaries. I have lived and worked in Waco for 11 years, and graduated from Baylor University. I have also begun my journey in the sommelier world and love it. FUN, PERSONAL FACT - When not trying new wines, I am likely daydreaming about my next adventure around the world. I adore traveling and can't get enough of other cultures!

Ello! Haley and Jordan Gandy here, we look forward to your stay at Avenues of Waco.

A little bit about us too... I Haley have worked and lived in Waco for the last 13 years. I actually moved to Waco to attend the commercial art and advertising program at TSTC.  Three years ago I started my own business Cedar Gandy after six years of working for a local design firm. I have been a volunteering in STARS book clubs at Providence Heights Elm. for the past 4 years, which is a reading program for at risk students. FUN, PERSONAL FACT - I love...love cookies! I mean breakfast, lunch, dinner..cookies would be okay with me.

Yep it's true! Jordan - the cookie monitor here. I am a franchise owner with The UPS Stores in Waco and Austin totaling 6 stores for now. I have lived in Waco for 15 years, and graduated with a degree in Entrepreneurship from Baylor University.  Not only is the path of entrepreneurship my career, it's also one of my passions. FUN, PERSONAL FACT - smoking meat is one thing I do pretty darn well, where golf is just something I do.

Happy in my 60's ! I have recently retired from dental hygiene in New Braunfels and am starting a new life and career. With open arms and heart, I welcome all who come our way, here at the Avenues ! I enjoy being outdoors, reading a good book, laughing with friends. Sharing life with others, loving our beautiful world, and searching always for joy, keeps be busy and satisfied. We look forward to hosting you! Patti
