We here at the Avenues of Waco LOVE fall! With that comes a great appreciation for pumpkin spice starting October 1st. Thus far we have tried pumpkin spice biscotti, beer, cheese and of course a few latte and chai drinks. With the left over biscotti I was inspired to make a pumpkin spice cheese cake, using it for the crust and adding some extra spices. It turned out pretty good seeing as it was the first one for the books, although I wish I would have doubled the amount of spice. However the best item we have tried thus far, by far was the pumpkin spice creme brûlée from one of our favorite restaurants Mitchell's Grill in Clifton, TX.
Everything on their menu is delicious, every time we make the drive through the country side, but this was soooo good! Don't you love that when you order something "pumpkin spice" it actually tastes like pumpkin spice!? Head to Mitchell's Grill this fall and save room for dessert!
FUN FACTS ABOUT || Mitchell's Grill
The owners/chefs are a retried couple who have a love, passion and knack for cuisine. They celebrate their 5th year open this month, and we hope they celebrate many more to come. The atmosphere is simple elegance mixed with warm and welcoming. One of our favorite parts of the dining experience is at the end of the evening the chef/owner pops open a beer and mingles with every table as he makes his way around the restaurant. Makes you feel right at home, like you're apart of the family.
